Life in Jesus

As human beings, we are limited by time and space. However, there is a supernatural gift for us as followers of Christ: God is not limited by time and space. According to the Scriptures, he can live within us. We also call the indwelling of Christ in our hearts “communion with God.” The beauty of the gospel is that we don’t just live with Christ; we live in Christ because he wants to dwell in us. Doing life in Jesus is more than attending a weekly worship service or casually singing a praise song once in a while. Doing life in Jesus means living in the steady awareness of His presence within us.

This means that every moment of our lives, going to school, shopping, and daily work, is lived in the reality that Christ lives in us. Paul expressed that there is only one reality, the Christ reality: “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Ephesians 3:16-19 (NIV).
